Our History
We are a boutique investment manager solely focused on designing and operating the best portfolio solutions in the marketplace.
We were founded in 2006, renamed as 8AM Global in 2015. This rebranding was a strategic move that reflected our growth, evolution, and commitment to our mission. It also coincided with many of the team members you see today joining the company. From that point onwards, the business focused wholly on providing Managed Portfolio Services for financial advisers.
8AM manages over £1 billion of assets in partnership with financial advisers, spread over 20 different UK investment platforms. These assets comprise many different investment mandates, and the firm currently administers over 80 individual model portfolio strategies for its clients.
Each 8AM Global team member has been chosen for their exceptional drive and client focus. With its diverse background in the financial services profession, the members of our team are united by a powerful shared tenet: to transform investment management for the better.
At 8AM Global, we understand the challenges that plague the private retail investment sector: information scarcity, bias, and misinformation.
That’s why we’re committed to addressing these imbalances with a fundamental focus on client and adviser outcomes, transparency, and demystification.
Our Principles
We don’t build ‘black boxes’ and seek to ensure that every part of our investment process is scrutable, logical and repeatable.
Our investment process is driven by a simple mantra: “If we can consistently add value in a clear and measurable way, we do it”. We build investment processes that offer clear, repeatable value, no empty promises of market clairvoyance, and with adviser compliance and client suitability at the core of our products.
For us client value is defined as a combination of understanding, perception, outcome and expectation.
Therefore, we create investment products based on evidence and efficiency which always seek to reinforce the two most important factors in positive client outcomes; engagement & trust. Some asset managers rely on brand, legacy or cherry-picked statistics. Instead, we opt to reinforce value to clients by using simple, repeated, powerful portfolio optimisation and reporting.
